Did you know that new tires have rubber conditioners, UV absorbers, and antiozonants that protect it from damage? The daily drive leads to a lot of dirt and debris getting trapped around your tires. It’s best to clean your tires with a non-caustic agent that’s marked safe for use with all rubber and wheels. Otherwise, you could be using a soap that will lead to the break down of rubber over time, which can cause dry rot.
In addition to cleaning with the right agents, you’ll also want to use a stiff bristle brush made from nylon. These work best to scrub out debris and grime around your tires. Once finished, you’ll rinse off your tires and then dry with a microfiber cloth. These capture all of the remaining dirt and grimy water without scratching your rims.
At Steingold Volvo Cars located in Pawtucket, we also use a protectant to coat your tires so that they’re protected from daily grime and wear. You’ll see the best rates on car detailing and new tires when you stop by our service department.
