Cold Batteries Drain Quicker

Batteries that are operating in colder temperatures will discharge significantly faster. That makes it harder for the battery to provide sufficient power to the vehicle.

Cold weather conditions are hard to avoid in some places, so the most important part about keeping a battery in good conditions during the winter is running the engine daily.

Hot Batteries Swell And Loose Fluid

The cells in a battery exposed to extreme heat will swell up and can leak out, causing decreased performance and possible battery failure.

That's why it's important to park your vehicle in the shade on hot summer days.

Store Your Battery In Cooler Temperatures

Ideally, storing your battery in a cool area that is above freezing will prolong its life and hold a better charge.

And don't forget to unplug the negative battery terminal if you store your car for over a month to avoid battery drainage.
